Field Improvement Fundraiser!
San Diego Football Academy teams play year-round and require quality fields for practices and games. In our attempt to improve the overall experience at SDFA fields, we are offering an opportunity to make a donation to our Field Improvement Fund. All funds will go directly to field improvements and maintenance. Our goal is to raise an incremental $15,000 before October 1, 2014 to continue to improve fields 1,2 and 3 renovations, as well as the side training field at SDFA's home field location of Mesa Verde Middle School. SDFA parents and friends can now donate online for more information: click here.
To donate through mail, please complete our Donation Form and mail it in.
If you are a business owner or know of a possible corporate sponsor, please visit our Field improvement sponsorship page to learn about our sponsorship packages.
SDFA College Night A Success!
Our annual SDFA College Night which took place on Tuesday, July 2 was a success. Coach Johnson Asiedu was instrumental in bringing together experts on the college application and student-athlete recruiting process. Jeff Wadstrom and Scott Yahner from Letics Sports Inc. kicked off the night by presenting a general overview of what high school soccer players should watch out for on their college search. Wadstrom strongly emphasized the importance of the athlete in the entire process: athletes must be proactive, and put themselves out there for college coaches.
The night also brought together a panel of SDFA alumni who are now playing at four-year universities to provide some insight into the student-athlete experience. The panel included Sam Horton of UC Santa Cruz, Tate Becker of Gouchers, and Isaac Bwayo of Arizona Western College, all who played under the tutelage of Coach Johnson Asiedu.
As part of the SDFA philosophy of developing the “Total Player,” we strive to encourage our students and parents to become proactive in their educational decisions. For this reason, we thank all of the speakers, players, and parents who attended on this special night, as they all showed the importance of higher education in the development of a better society.
